Powell Seeds – Customer Appreciation Field Day

Thursday, August 25th, 2016

Sometimes you pull up to an event and you can just tell it’s going to be fun. That was the case in Converse, IN recently when I had the privilege of performing for local farmers and clients of Powell Seeds. Powell Seeds is a great, family run business that has served the area farmers for decades. If you live in Central Indiana, you owe it to yourself to call upon Powell Seeds for your corn and soybean needs.

Fellowship Bible Church – Mission Fundraiser

Tuesday, August 16th, 2016

What do you do when your mission trip needs a fundraiser? Call Rik Roberts!

What a fun time we had at the Fellowship Bible Church in Murfreesboro, TN as we helped fund a mission trip to Africa. A small group from the church are going to Cabo Verde which is an island nation off the west coast of Africa (around Senegal).  The ministry focus is the Jesus Film Project which is part of Cru.  They are going to be 1) sharing the gospel and 2) helping them establish a ministry there.  It is extremely exciting and I am happy to play a small part in this adventure!

Macon County School System

Saturday, August 13th, 2016

I recently had the opportunity to speak to teachers and administrators in the Macon County School System. It was their county-wide professional development day right before school kicked off. If there is one profession that I truly admire – it’s teaching.

Thanks to Shawn Carter, Supervisor of Instruction for the Macon County School system for bringing me in.

During the Mayberry Method speech, I was able to weave in some personal stories about teachers who had profound effects – both good and bad – on my early years. Never underestimate the power of words, guidance and a well timed compliment. School is so much more than homework and tests. It is all about connections and commitment.

Best of luck to all the teachers everywhere who imprint upon our kids. You Rock!
