NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017

Home visits can be stressful and rewarding all at once. My goal for this presentation was to reward the workers with an hour of stress-free laughter. What a great time and a super-nice group!

RIK ROBERTS COMEDY

“I am so glad we made the choice to have Rik come to Nebraska for our conference! As the work our home visitors do is very stressful, and many of the topics of the conference were “heavy,” the break for comedy during our luncheon was a perfect way for our participants to “Recharge!” Rik was a joy to work with, extremely professional and 100% appropriate for our audience. We had a lot of wonderful feedback!”

FUN TIME AT THE RYMAN

RIK ROBERTS COMEDIAN

Time sure flies. I think it was 1994 when I first performed with this funny man. Next thing I knew he had blown up into one of the most recognizable comedy voices in our time. “Larry the Cable Guy” had a hilarious show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. It was good to hang backstage and catch up little bit. Git-R-Done!

Palmyra, MO “Expert Weather Predictor” Fake Speaker Appearance

Wednesday, March 1st, 2017

What do you get when you cross a stand-up comedian with false credentials?  A fake expert on weather prediction! I recently had the opportunity to speak to a group in Palmyra, MO for B. & S. Insurance.

They wanted to through a curveball to the farmers attending the annual meeting. Buy, were they surprised when the “Current Al Roker Award Winner” told them solar energy was burning the paws off of baby squirrels!

Frank Burch had to approach the “expert” and ask him to step aside while he introduced the “comedian” who had just arrived.

This is what the client had to say about the experience …

Rik Roberts was the entertainment for our two annual farmer meetings. His clean comedy was funny and engaging for our diverse group of farmers. In the days since his performance, we have had many calls and compliments thanking us for having such a good speaker. He was wonderful to work with, and our customers enjoyed the show. Rik was probably the nicest speaker on and off stage that we have had in the past 15 years. I would recommend Rik Roberts for any event that wants a truly entertaining comedy show.

Chamber of Commerce Fun!

Monday, February 13th, 2017

What a fun group and great time we had in Northern Indiana!

I love performing for Chambers of Commerce. Being around business leaders is inspiring. And, I know they always can use a good laugh. Here is what Steve Kimmel, Executive Director of the Huntington County Chamber had say afterwards.

“I’m sending you a big “thank you” for the hilarious night of comedy you provided at our Annual Dinner. Your sense of humor is spot on with the folks of Huntington County, Indiana. I heard from several people that the entertainment was one of the best the Chamber has had in years. Thank you for driving up from Nashville to spend the evening with us. We certainly plan to have you back.”

I hope to return sometime down the road!

It’s Funny Now Hits Hiawatha, KS!

Monday, February 6th, 2017

Growing up I had the privilege of helping my father out on his Tobacco farm in Lexington, Ky. When that was slow,  I took care of the grounds on Dan Issel’s Thoroughbred farm “Cortland”. On both farms John Deere had a hefty presence. So, it was a great feeling to share some laughs and a little “patrolling” with Hiawatha Implement  in Mound City, MO and Hiawatha, KS recently.

“Recently, I had the honor of performing for the customers of Hiawatha Implement in KS & MO.

Here is what they had to say about my show, “It’s Funny Now”:

“Rik Roberts was very professional, but also personable. He is a fun guy off stage, too. His Barney imitation was a hit and entering the audience area in an old Cop car let everyone know he arrived. During his stage performance, many folks laughed non-stop. He was a HIT. Later in the show, Rik started some audience participation which was hilarious. We were very well pleased and would recommend Rik for very clean comedy.”

Sometimes you pull up to an event and you can just tell it’s going to be fun. That was the case in Converse, IN recently when I had the privilege of performing for local farmers and clients of Powell Seeds. Powell Seeds is a great, family run business that has served the area farmers for decades. If you live in Central Indiana, you owe it to yourself to call upon Powell Seeds for your corn and soybean needs.

Fellowship Bible Church – Mission Fundraiser

Tuesday, August 16th, 2016

What do you do when your mission trip needs a fundraiser? Call Rik Roberts!

What a fun time we had at the Fellowship Bible Church in Murfreesboro, TN as we helped fund a mission trip to Africa. A small group from the church are going to Cabo Verde which is an island nation off the west coast of Africa (around Senegal).  The ministry focus is the Jesus Film Project which is part of Cru.  They are going to be 1) sharing the gospel and 2) helping them establish a ministry there.  It is extremely exciting and I am happy to play a small part in this adventure!
