Rik Roberts Corporate Speaker

Rik made our annual conference! We tied in our TitlePAC fundraiser into his act and Rik was so accommodating! We also had problems with audio visual presentation but Rik didn’t miss a bit. Attendees commented that his comedy was hilarious but there was substance in his presentation on eliminating distractions in the work place.

Rik is a pro in every sense of the way and a great comedic talent. I recommend Rik whole-heartedly! Thanks so much, Rik!!

Fake “Expert” Strikes Again … This Time In Atlanta!

Monday, March 6th, 2017

For the second time in three days I was able to “fool” the audience as a fake speaker. This time, I was speaking on the coal industry to commercial explosives and blasting systems provider Orica.

As I explained how windmills were reversing the Earth rotation, I got a few puzzling looks …

RIK ROBERTS ORICA SPEAKER

And then, when I informed them that a solar energy expansion pilot program in Seattle was a major failure I won them back.

There was just enough “true” mixed in with the “false” that it made for a great surprise.

Here is what the client had to say …

“Rik was a great addition to our conference of joint ventures & independent distributors. He had great ideas on how to trick the audience into believing he was an industry expert who we soon figured out knew very little about our industry. He was responsive to my communications, punctual at our event & everyone really enjoyed his comedic routine. His timing was spot-on, the topics were universal and he did a great Barney Fife!!

Macon County School System

Saturday, August 13th, 2016

I recently had the opportunity to speak to teachers and administrators in the Macon County School System. It was their county-wide professional development day right before school kicked off. If there is one profession that I truly admire – it’s teaching.

Thanks to Shawn Carter, Supervisor of Instruction for the Macon County School system for bringing me in.

During the Mayberry Method speech, I was able to weave in some personal stories about teachers who had profound effects – both good and bad – on my early years. Never underestimate the power of words, guidance and a well timed compliment. School is so much more than homework and tests. It is all about connections and commitment.

Best of luck to all the teachers everywhere who imprint upon our kids. You Rock!

NSTA National Science Teachers Association

What a blast I had acting as emcee for the National Science Teachers Association Awards Banquet at the national conference in Nashville, TN this past weekend. I had a first hand look at some amazing things teachers are doing to get students engaged in learning and applying science. It was cool having a sneak peek inside all they have planned for our children. I can tell you this for certain, the future is bright thanks to groups like NSTA!
